Cat's Eye Tire Pressure System

Cat's Eye makes it easy to see if your tires are underinflated.

The system attaches to the dual's hub or lug bolt

and allows air transfer from one tire to the other

Its single airing point fills both tires at once,

making the job quick, clean and easy

When the "eye" is completly closed, the tires are within

the recomended pressure range and are equalized

As the "eye" begins to open, the pressure has dropped

5-6% a sign of a slow leak

When the "eye" is completly open, the pressure has dropped

10% under recomended pressure and needs imediate attention

At this point, the internal check valve is activated, isolating

the good tire from additional pressure loss

What Are The Common Issues With Truck Tires?

  • 18 Wheel vehicles can take 20-30 minutes to check all tires, and inflate 2-3 tires
  • 58% Of all road service calls are tire related due to under-inflation
  • Under-Inflation, the number one cause of tire wear and failure increases tire cost 10-13%
  • 7% Of all tires are under-inflated by 20% or more
  • 10% Under-inflation reduces tread life by as much as 16%
  • 15% Under-inflation reduces MPG by 2.5%

         Issues:
  • 25% Of all tire assemblies have tires that differ in pressure by more than 5 psi
  • Inflation Mismatches on dual tires cause tire diameter to differ, larger tire will drag smaller tire
  • Just 5 psi creates 5/16" diameter difference
  • Equates to the smaller tire being dragged 13 feet for every mile

         Cat's Eye Solution:
  • Save time, one check point, just a glance at the eye tells the story
  • One fill point for each dual set
  • Keeps both tires in dual tire assemblies equalized
  • Most monitoring systems do not have this feature
  • Internal check valve prevents both tires from deflating due to blow-out, cut hose, or slow leak
  • Reduce tire wear and optimize fuel mileage
  • Low cost practical and dependable solution
